Food for the Hungry (FH Association)
Food for the Hungry (FH), registered as FH Association in Bangladesh, is a Christian relief & development organization working in Bangladesh since 1972 began by distributing rice to the poor. FH seeks to end ALL forms of human poverty by going to the hard places and walking with the world’s most vulnerable people. FH focused efforts on community development including livelihoods, micro-lending, health, education and disaster response resilience. Over the last 40 years, FH has partnered with Bangladeshi leaders and impoverished communities to create better living conditions. Our view of poverty is holistic and complex. We honor the people we serve by inviting them to contribute to the process. We are grateful to be invited into the communities we serve and work side-by-side with local leaders, responding to their needs with transformative solutions, which are both sustainable and implemented at the hands of the communities themselves.
Food for the Hungry (FH) is a Christian humanitarian aid and global development organization that designs, develops and delivers solutions for more than 50 years so that children, families and communities can flourish. Collaborating with local leaders across sectors, we co-create solutions that build resilience by strengthening mental, physical and spiritual well-being. We serve nearly 10 million people in 18 countries so that communities have the agency and resources necessary to realize their God-given potential.
Food for the Hungry is a recognized and powerful force of the gospel; pursues fullness of life, reconciled and holistic relationships, agency and resilience for those who are challenged by poverty, injustice and marginalization; provides compelling evidence that our approach represents the most promising path for sustainable, systemic and profound impact; and leads our sector into new frontiers.
The underlying causes of poverty, injustice and marginalization are complex and often interconnected. That’s why our partnerships with local communities and leaders reach across the full range of economic, social, spiritual, and cultural interests, bringing everyone to the table to create comprehensive solutions that endure. When communities have both the agency to make their own decisions and access to needed resources, they can realize their full potential

Our Culture Statement
All we do, and how we do it, seeks to promote God's beauty, goodness, and truth in a broken world. As such, we are defined by our ability to make people’s lives measurably better; our ability to deliver impact is the measure of our collective success. For we know that we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God has already prepared in advance for us to do.
We believe that every imaginable problem has a solution, and that our contributions make a difference. Therefore, we are voracious in our efforts to discover and build sustainable solutions and view well intentioned failure as an opportunity to learn, do better, and innovate.
We affirm that those we serve are best placed to define the value that should accrue to them, how it should be delivered, whether our efforts have worth, and who should hold us accountable.
We are at our best when we seek first to understand, then be understood; take ownership for our behaviors and actions; promote
the success of others; collaborate to advance our shared purpose; and assume positive intent in all things, until proven otherwise.
We believe that curiosity is indispensable to driving meaningful change, and requires us to challenge our own assumptions, the status quo and embrace ambiguity and discomfort in our search for what is good and right.
We embrace God’s call for us, individually and collectively, to put His Kingdom and those suffering from poverty, injustice, and marginalization first; and to persist and persevere until we achieve our mission.
