The Asia Foundation

Improving Lives, Expanding Opportunities

In Bangladesh, The Asia Foundation collaborates with government entities, civil society organizations (CSOs), the private sector, and religious and secular leaders to address contemporary development challenges. Our programs empower women garment workers to navigate the Fourth Industrial Revolution and automation, promote inclusive policymaking through coalition building, and foster religious harmony with early warning systems against religious violence. We advance women's economic empowerment through digital and financial inclusion initiatives and conduct annual surveys on political and economic governance. Our digital library provides free access to children's books across Bangladesh, enhancing educational opportunities. Our regional governance efforts emphasize accountability and transparency, while our climate change initiatives support women activists and political economy analysis of pollution issues. By partnering with expert CSOs, we build their capacity using the Thinking and Working Politically (TWP) approach and adaptive management techniques for optimal outcomes. Additionally, we support think tanks in publishing cutting-edge policy research and convening policy dialogues.
