The mission of SIL Bangladesh is to support MLCs to flourish, through facilitating their own language and holistic development, and supporting these communities to advocate for their rights, dignity, and access to social services and justice.
The vision of SIL Bangladesh is to facilitate the intersection of language, culture (identity) and holistic development in minority language communities.

SIL Bangladesh is an international non-profit organization that provides various types of research, training and consultancy support for the community's development of their culture and language. SIL International Bangladesh has been registered under the NGO Affairs Bureau of the Prime Minister's office of the government of Bangladesh since 2000. It serves as a training, consulting, and development organisation for the ethnic minority language communities in Bangladesh. SIL works directly with the communities or in partnership with national and international non-profit organizations.
